This was a special year for Aquatics International’s Best of Aquatics program.

It marks 10 years since Best of Aquatics was reformulated into the version and format we see today. To mark the occasion, we have selected and celebrate some of the standouts from this already-stellar crowd over the past decade.

The following programs were honored in the Training and Lifeguard Management categories.

• Best of the Best: City of Temecula Community Recreation Center

  This resourceful and community-minded response to the staffing crisis helped maintain operations while fostering a supportive environment that encouraged staff retention and high morale.

  

• Best of the Best: City of Phoenix Aquatics

  This program employed true innovation to address the challenge for all aquatics facilities: How do you prepare lifeguards for a task you hope they never have to face?

  

• Best of the Best: River Road Park and Recreation District

  This realistic training for catastrophic situations took instruction to the next level, providing a realistic idea of what to expect in certain worst-case scenarios.
