This resort marks the first time in 15 years that new construction was permitted along the Seven Mile Beach on Grand Cayman. So the developers and designers took their due inspiration from the environs. For instance, the resort’s name incorporates the word “seafire” because the setting sun appears to set the ocean aflame.

Designers strove for a modern take on the Caribbean. Native limestone and plant materials are used throughout, supporting the contemporary interconnecting arcs that form many of the lines in the aquatic space. Colors of the Caribbean sea and local flowers are referenced in turquoise interior finishes and colorful surrounding furniture.
Three primary areas serve different kinds of clients. The main area includes three terraced pools, each of which mimics the ocean’s turquoise waters but has its own appeal. They include a general-purpose recreation for all ages, a plunge pool for adults seeking some distance; and a shallower children’s play pool with beach entry and interactive sprays.
Two more secluded areas appeal to adults. The Oasis Pool provides a quiet retreat in a garden setting. An indoor health spa features a hydrotherapy pool with infinity edges and bench seating. A rain curtain serves as a subtle divider between male and female sides of the health spa and adds soothing sounds.
