ROLLIN’ DOWN THE RIVER

After attempts to incorporate the town’s French lineage into the name, the team that designed this municipal property decided to accentuate its most exciting feature.

River Rapids Waterpark features a not-so-lazy river equipped with a wave generator that can be activated and shut down intermittently. Added to a portion of the 13,000 square foot river, the wave generator uses air to create small waves and offer a slightly different experience with each pass. The feature’s popularity has only validated this naming decision.

In addition to the centerpiece feature, the property includes a 25-yard lap pool with six lanes, a 4,000 square foot wading pool, vortex, large underwater sundeck, several children’s play features, climbing wall, and a 35-foot-tall slide tower with four unique slides.

Generous decking not only provides plenty of space for lounging and sunbathing, but it also allows easy access to all areas.

Special attention was paid to control and monitoring, both by users and lifeguards. For instance, the Kid Zone, for those under 48 inches tall, has a single entry and exit so parents can watch their children without having to focus in multiple directions.

The lap pool supports a wide range of activities, with a diving board, zipline and climbing wall.

A support building houses such spaces as the ticket entrance booth, administrative space, family changing areas, showers, locker area, indoor party room, pool equipment room, concessions, and support and mechanical spaces.
