Houston Hotel Debuts Texas-Shaped Lazy River

Just in time for the Super Bowl!

A lazy river shaped like the state of Texas is one of the star attractions of the recently opened Marriot Marquis hotel in Houston. The pool is perched 110 feet above ground and is part of the hotel’s Parkview Terrace, which also includes an infinity pool.

The lazy river is surrounded by Houston’s skyline and stretches for 530-feet. On the western side of the pool, approaching “El Paso” the river seems to disappear off the edge of the building with views through an underwater window looking down on the park below.

Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner officially turned on the lights of the pool to celebrate the opening of the hotel.

The lazy river opened just in time to welcome Super Bowl visitors who will be in town for the event on February 5.
