Shigella Cases Lead to Strict Toddler Pool Rules

Source: Fox19.com

Children in Northern Kentucky who are not potty trained must stay out of public pools, even when wearing swim diapers.

The rule, enacted by the local health department is a response to an increase in the number of Shigellosis cases.

Chlorine will destroy the bacterium that causes the illness, but officials will still be monitoring approximately 350 pools.
