The Association of Aquatic Professionals has high hopes for its eighth annual Conference & Exposition.

Earlier this year, the event broke attendance and exhibitor records. Especially considering it is still a relatively new event, organizers hope to continue that trend.

This year, the event moves to the Dallas-area city of Frisco, Texas, and features more than 60 educational sessions, as well as various networking opportunities.

The event kicks off with a keynote address by Mimi Donaldson, co-author of the book Negotiating for Dummies, a public speaker and instructor who has worked with Fortune 100 professionals for more than 20 years. Her presentation, “Bless Your Stress: It Means You’re Still Alive!” offers advice for managing stress.

The session will close with another speaker – recreation veteran Lydie Gutfeld. In her talk, “The Leadership Evolution: Know 1 Be 1 Show 1,” Gutfeld will discuss ways to improve as leaders and mentors.

For the second year, attendees can join a tour of local facilities before the conference officially begins. This time, professionals can observe the Frisco Athletic Center, Texas Ford Aquatics and the Frisco Natatorium.

In addition to AOAP’s sessions on a wide range of subjects, partner organizations also will provide training. US Masters will hold its Adult Learn to Swim instructor certification course Monday, Feb. 25. USA Swimming will hold its Build a Pool Conference Thursday and Friday, Feb. 28-March 1.

Registration to attend or exhibit at the AOAP 8th Annual Conference & Exposition has opened.
