A bill to reauthorize the first federally mandated pool/spa safety law has been introduced. HR 4313 by Representative Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Fla.), would allocate $5 million per year in grants from 2024 to 2029 to be used for qualifying jurisdictions to assist with swim instruction and enforcing pool/spa safety laws.
The bill also would expand the qualifications for grants to include nonprofit organizations and Native American tribes.
